  1. ability for vuze to identify peers that only leech

would be nice for vuze to identify peers in the swarm that are only leeching and not sharing..and alert the user to this activity and give the user the ability to ban that user either for a limited time or forever

how it would do this is...it would keep track of how much data a partiticular peer has sent..and if its below a certain amount over a certain period of time..they that client is most likely only leeching

this is very wide spread with XUNLEI clients

  2. Hybrid and Dynamic OS

Vuze is so complex. Vuze is so intelligent.
Man where do you get such talent.
    Can you build an OS?
I am looking for a device driver community on the Internet - as this is corely related to the kernel of the OS I want to create.
I can't find a single website - say forum or community on device driver coding.
Traditional programmers don't mostly qualify. Mail me at Nate.Benz@Hotmail.com

  5. i2p

The i2p settings/feature us great but 99% of the times I get zero activity when using this setting but when I switch to a lower setting like "*****" my activity up & down jumps into action. I'm not sure what people are not using the i2p setting more but…

Maybe users you share via i2p setting should get double share ration points.
How about a mandatory percentage of seeds will be automatically to i2p to keep i2p alive.

I'm sure other users can come up with suggestion too.

  6. Make client configuration more crash resilient

Currently the client stores its configuration across several files in its configuration directory by first copying the old file to *.bak and then writing the new one. This is bad because, this involves I/O on both the backup and the new file, and with the operating system or disk write cache being used, if the system crashes, both files will be corrupted by this.
It would be great if the client could:
    1. Rename the configuration file, before writing the new one.
    2. Flush the disk cache after or use direct I/O (i.e. writing without write caching) for every write…

  8. provide a dummies guide to anonymous downloading with all jargon explained.

I have tried downloading anonymously but there is too much jargon to cut through. I get confused when reading though function descriptions it feels like Vuze is meant only for PC experts, there is no real beginners mode

  11. In browser I can find all torrents - Vuze search is so poor that I can't find 80% of them. How about better Vuze search algorithm?

  12. Strengthen overall network by downloading random torrent files.

I think it would be great if Vuze would download random torrents in the background when the full bandwidth is not in use. These torrents would have a low seed amount.

This would help to strengthen the overall network and make less popular files download faster.

To make it work they would have to be torrents from known categories like TV, Films, Music to avoid dangerous content.

  13. Vuze reps checking ads BEFORE they use them.

If Vuze reps would check what ads they allow through their application BEFORE they use them so as to reduce viruses which are attempted to be downloaded through the ad display, it would help users immensely. Getting fake flash player downloads and other virus download prompts as well as browser hijacks through the ads UI really takes away from the desire to use the program or donate to a program that isn't being properly maintained.

  14. While I'm connected to a peer, I'd like to browse what they're sharing.

I miss being able to click on an IP address on screen, right clicking and being allowed to see that user's share directory. This way I could know what a like mind has collected and is making available to share.

  15. diagnose and heal

When I use Vuze, My NAT shows green & OK but then I check Network Status and I get Test failed: NAT test failed: No route to host (...:etc)
Check your port forwarding for TCP *
    **

I fix it by checking/changing the above TCP port, then it wigs some time later and I have to repeat fixing.

I wish there was an easier way to fix this problem with diagnostic feature that provide clear solutions that sticks.

  18. disable balloon notification "Vuze Leap will continue to run in system tray"

After I seen this notification a few times - I don't need to see it any more. Because I know that Vuze will rest in system tray.

  19. aask for small donation amounts instead of full subscription to keep it running.

Every now and again Vuze asks me to buy the full program. Thing is I don't want the full program or just can't afford the full price as most months I am broke.
What I wouldn't mind is every 6 months or so donating a few pounds/dollars as my way of saying thanks cool program and it helps Vuze pay the bills.
For example, every year Wikipedia asks me for a small donation and I have no problem making a £3 donation. This way I feel better as I use this platform and I put something back even if it…
