Not try to bundle other software or install toolbars

When I download your upgrades, your upgrades are full of other programs and you change many of my settings. For example, I don´t want Yahoo as my default web search engine.
So please stop adding other programs to your downloads and changing my computer settings.
Those issues make vuze a challenge for me to upgrade or to purchase your full version. I can only imagine what extra junk programs I have to deal with when I purchase Vuze.

You can't do a better job of ******* off people who deliberately use the "custom" install to avoid loading bloatware and malware than ******* with their browser settings without asking.

When you provide updates, do not allow Firefox to be changed which allows YAHOO to take it over. DNS Cache errors come in all over the place which are a pain to correct. Keep Yahoo out of my computer !!!

stop the ads from installing malware.....I use the free version and would love to donate or even pay for the upgrade, but I can't do that knowing that vuze is supporting ads that fill my pc with malware. why support those kind of organizations? I understand the need for ads to pay the bills, but not when it takes advantage of your own users. until that changes I will be a infrequent user....

There are too many misleading options in the install. Don't want junkware:
Easy just click on decline, now for the next junkware option oops decline is now on the other side and accept is right under your mouse. Ok next. oops I need to click cancel to continue next means install junkware. Now just click "no", "no", "yes", "continue", "cancel", "ok", uncheck the three boxes, then cancel (NOT install), then "go", "quit", "ok", and finish (not the big finish button that installs junkware, close that window and click the little tiny finish button). Now scan your computer and you are good to go on installing vuze (unless you made a mistake or they changed something in which case lots of new toolbars are downloading from the internet and installing with a delay). Now you can reconnect to the internet (cross your fingers). Grandma (or anyone you know?) can follow that logic right? How about a big button in the install process that says "install optional software" which leads to a list of the software they propose to install, and another equally big button that is equally legible that says "Don't install any optional software".

I agree. These additions make it very hard for me to recommend Vuze to my grandma and other old people like her. The arrogance shown by the other commenters, suggest that people like my grandma and senior citizens shouldn't be using computers. Pathetic.

For those " the less technically literate" .. just use Custom installation, undo the checkbox for "install search bar" (or wathever it's called). And if you're not sure read the help online and/or the terms of use.
I wanted to tell you more about how easy it is to undo the 'adware' but ... i'm too lazy i guess.. -

If you can't read what your accepting during the installation, then you shouldn't have a computer. I It's a no brainer to avoid them and this is the best client your going to get. Not to mention it is free to use.

Also donate people or get the paid version; the bundling of adware and having to select 'no' during install is a small price to pay for free software. So in the world of gimme gimme don't forget to gimme back;

Additional software should be OPT IN
Opt out is a ****** way to scam users into installing garbage software.

Wow. I read this in the forum too. Are there only a few people that know how to read? I have absolutely no extras on my PC or browsers, because I know how to read & decline an offer. It clearly states during installation DECLINE or ACCEPT. If you can read, just click decline. Amazing. No extras or adware on your computer. Clap Clap Clap.

I agree with and was going to say the same thing as Cody. You have to read what you are clicking on instead of just clicking yes or next or accept right away otherwise you are going to be one of those people who have 20+ toolbars installed on their computer and wandering why they have them if you even notice them. I suggest everyone that votes for this to run a full scan with their antivirus and with malwarebytes.

Next time, durring the installation, you should read that it was asking you to install the software. The "ACCEPT" button does take you further... but the "DECLINE" button does the exact same thing without installing extra software. I do believe that SOME level of intellect should be required, after all, the internet is NOT a forgiving place, and rushing into it without reading will land you in prison or worse.

Disagree - There's a reason they do this, it's on the FREE version. How do you think they make money?
-
Eric commented
i disagree. all you have to do is uncheck the optionals if you don't want them. not that hard and if you want vuze to stay free then they must be there because they wont make any money to fund the program.

Agree!!!
I understand that there is a financial factor, and I like the free Vuze, so a middle ground may be the way to go, but I've lost valuable download time because I didn't know that a Vuze update was waiting for me to click past a bundling screen!
Perhaps a child process for an Opt-In screen (i.e. User has to check boxes to install the extras, NOT user has to Uncheck to not install) that does not delay the install process.
