vuse to check for other copies and sources via checksum, not filename or directory
Here is the scenario: I see advertised "the latest unbuntu released today". I click on the link and it download a file into c:\vuzeShared\unbutu\latest.iso
The file works, no issues. However I rename the ubuntu directory to Linux, and the file to ubuntu x64 v123.iso, so the path is c:\vuzeShared\Linux\ubuntu x64 v123.iso
Vuse will not automatically index this - not really a big issue, as one can File > Share etc, but vuse sees these as different files to the original selection. If I select the file again, another copy will be downloaded to me. Should someone want me as a source, then my copy although the same content as the origional, will no longer be available from me.
Another scenario is I may have already downloaded this latest version, but someone renamed it or added a txt file, so I download it again, when in reality I only may need to download the txt file, or not download it at all.
I see advertised freeware unbuntu games, and among them is solitaire. Rather than downloading from one person it would be good to source all the solitaire with are the same renamed file, or in another vuse shared directory.
The checksum search will give more sources, reincarnate dead and prematurely ended downloads, and make sure one does not download the same file twice - or worse down load it again but before finishing, the owner pulls the plug half way through, so no one has a copy of an existing file(s), and one does not actually know it because it is incomplete.
